Red is a funny colour

A one colour print, well red on white background. Simplistic and modern. I like this style and think its uncomplicated and calm nature is a winner. Perhaps a red coloured celebrity could almost be a celebrity red nose day image? This does say less is more by far!

Feathery fiend

Here are a few versions of a design I chose to create with ink. The words which create the magpie in flight, are the words repeated again and again from a rhyme about the thieving feathery not so friendly foe. I think the result is pretty eye catching and a reliable method of design.
A different version, a bit more detail and perhaps a little too busy!!
Some larger text and some smaller text. I like this version, however I prefered the design below. It is more clearly
I like all my versions, however I had to be more realistic with what design would be the best for a final piece. Too small text you might not have been able to read it with the writing tools I was using and too big might have been too much to be able to see the words as making an image; that being of a bird. I chose a medium blue background and printed with white ink for the lettering which gives the lettering a silver effect. The silver colour represents the shiny objects that magpies love to thieve! I chose blue because magpie have a blue tinge to their feathers. However, those not knowing what bird I was working with might not be able to guess straight away or work it out so maybe a rethink about the colours used might make it more obvious next time. Those being black and white!
